Resorts World Genting Closes Two Iconic Gaming Zones

Resorts World Genting closes the Circus Palace and Hollywood gaming zones, paving the way for a modernised gaming experience at the SkyCasino. The gaming group posted the announcement on the Resorts World Genting website, stating that Genting Casino 1 (Circus Palace) and Genting Casino 2 (Hollywood) will be closed with effect from today (Feb 28).

An era will come to an end at Malaysia’s only casino complex, Resorts World Genting. The Circus Palace and Hollywood gaming zones, once bustling hubs of excitement and entertainment, are set to close their doors.

The decision marks a significant shift in the landscape of leisure and gaming at one of the country’s most prominent tourist destinations, nestled in the cool climes of Genting Highlands, near Kuala Lumpur.

For years, the Circus Palace and Hollywood gaming zones have been integral parts of the Genting Highlands experience.

They’ve offered not just games of chance, but the allure of a world apart, where night could turn into day amidst the ringing of slot machines and the shuffling of cards.

However, recent developments have seen these icons of entertainment facing dwindling patronage, leading to the closure of both gaming zones.

As these doors close, patrons are directed toward the newer, more modern SkyCasino, a testament to changing tastes and preferences in the post-Covid-19 era.

The resort has organised a shuttle service to facilitate this transition, ensuring guests can continue to indulge in their gaming pursuits without interruption.

The reasons behind the closures remain shrouded in mystery, as Genting Malaysia Bhd, the operator behind Resorts World Genting, has kept details close to its chest.

The International Room, once a bustling area within these older zones, has also seen a significant reduction in footfall, prompting a strategic shift in focus towards accommodating patrons at the more contemporary gaming establishment.
