Pharmaniaga Berhad (Pharmaniaga) has appointed Zulkifli Jafar (pic) as its Executive Director. This appointment comes as the Group seeks to navigate a turnaround following the successful submission of its Regularisation Plan to Bursa Malaysia within the stipulated timeline.
Zulkifli, who previously served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer after joining the company in August 2020 as a Board member, brings over 25 years of experience in corporate restructuring and turnaround strategies.
As the newly appointed Executive Director, Zulkifli will assume responsibility for overseeing the Group’s operations, taking over the role and functions of the Executive Committee. His background as a trained corporate lawyer positions him well to lead Pharmaniaga through its transformative phase.
In addition to Zulkifli’s appointment, Pharmaniaga has also bolstered its leadership team with the addition of new Independent Non-Executive Directors. These include Dato’ Dr Faridah Aryani Md Yusof, a pharmacist with extensive experience in pharmaceutical services, Dato’ Mohd Zahir Zahur Hussain, a chartered accountant and Chairman of Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya, and Drs Imam Fathorrahman, a pharmacist with a wealth of experience at PT Kimia Farma TBK.
All these appointments are set to take effect on March 1, 2024.
Pharmaniaga Chairman, Izaddeen Daud, expressed confidence in the consolidated leadership team, emphasising the expertise brought by the new board members. He believes that this strengthened leadership will guide the Group through its transformative phase and facilitate sustainable growth in both Malaysia and Indonesia.
