PM To Drop Corrupted MPs From Cabinet

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has declared that any member of his Cabinet found involved in corrupt practices will be promptly dismissed from their positions to safeguard the nation’s integrity against corruption.

Anwar affirmed his stance during the opening of the National Anti-Corruption Summit (NACS) 2024, where he emphasized the importance of upholding a clean and corruption-free government. He reiterated his commitment to combating corruption and directed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to take decisive action against any ministers implicated in corrupt activities.

“We have been in power for over a year…I have been asking in Parliament and outside Parliament for anyone with information about a corrupt minister or prime minister to come forward with solid proof. If there’s any evidence, we will investigate and prosecute according to the laws,” Anwar said.

Acknowledging the cooperation of his Cabinet members in upholding the image of a clean government, Anwar commended their efforts. He emphasised the necessity for the MACC to rigorously monitor all tenders and decisions, leaving no room for corrupt practices.

“If they (MACC) ask me, I would say go ahead and take the necessary action and that minister must be dropped (from the Cabinet). That’s the way to keep the country safe,” he sdded.
