CGS MY Appoints Tan Sri Shahril Ridza, KJ As New Directors

CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CGS MY) has appointed Tan Sri Shahril Ridza Ridzuan and Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, as its independent non-executive directors, effective 28 February 2024.

They will join six other members on the board, including Carol Fong, Yuen Kwok Wai, Chan Yuen May, Azizah Binti Mohd Yatim, Alan Inn Wei Loon, and Khairi Shahrin Arief Bin Baki.

CGS MY CEO, Azizah, said “CGS MY welcomes Tan Sri Shahril and Khairy to our Board. While not mandatory, we have chosen to adopt recommended corporate governance practices, showcasing our commitment to the highest standards.

With our recent ownership change to CGS International Holdings Limited, we have new growth opportunities and can benefit from the expertise of these respected individuals to strengthen our board.”

Tan Sri Shahril brings three decades of professional experience in various industries, including legal and fund management. He has held leadership positions at prominent organisations such as Employees Provident Fund and Khazanah Nasional Berhad. Currently serving on multiple boards, Tan Sri Shahril is known for his strategic acumen and operational prowess.

Meanwhile Khairy, an entrepreneur and former politician, has extensive experience in government administration and party politics. As a former Minister of Health, he led successful initiatives in technology adoption and pandemic management. En Khairy’s diverse background makes him a valuable addition to CGS MY’s board.
