Bursa’s Benchmark Index Stays Higher At Midday

Bursa Malaysia’s benchmark index was higher at midday amid better sentiment on its regional peers, but the broader market was softer.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) increased 5.69 points to 1,543.71 from last Friday’s close of 1,538.02.

The benchmark index, which opened 1.08 points firmer at 1,539.10, moved between 1,537.31 and 1,547.10 during the morning trading session.

On the broader market, however, losers led gainers 463 to 398, while 432 counters were unchanged, 967 untraded and 23 others suspended.

Turnover amounted to 2.06 billion units worth RM1.21 billion.
