Bursa Malaysia Continues To Stay Lower At Midday

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) continued to stay lower at midday on Tuesday, due to cautious sentiments ahead of the overnight policy rate (OPR) announcement and the outcome of the ongoing China’s National People’s Congress.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI shed 16.21 points to 1,523.06, from Monday’s (March 4) close of 1,539.27.

The benchmark index, which opened 1.35 points lower at 1,537.92, moved between 1,518.84 and 1,537.92 during the morning trading session. 

The broader market was negative, with losers beating gainers 678 to 239, while 418 counters were unchanged, 916 untraded and 13 others suspended.

Turnover amounted to 2.10 billion units, worth RM1.40 billion, Bernama reported.
