myTukar Rebrands As Carro

myTukar, powered by Carro, has officially rebranded to Carro Malaysia (Carro).

This renaming exercise reflects the integration of Carro’s advanced technologies, products, and services into the Malaysian used car ecosystem, offering customers an enhanced experience.

The transition to Carro will encompass all aspects of myTukar’s operations, including its range of products and services, marketing materials, and physical signages across Malaysia.

This process will unfold over several months, culminating in the complete adoption of the Carro brand.

Carro, Co-Founder and Group CEO, Aaron Tan, expressed excitement about this milestone, saying, “myTukar’s renaming exercise marks a huge milestone in our brand integration, and we’re absolutely excited to hit the rest of our goals on our roadmap.”

Tan also highlighted Carro’s financial strength, positioning the company for potential listing in the future.

Carro, Southeast Asia’s largest and most profitable online used car platform, operates across multiple countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, and now Malaysia.

With a robust performance, the company is poised to achieve record-breaking EBITDA of nearly US$40 million in FY2024.

Reflecting on myTukar’s journey, myTukar founder and Carro’s CEO of International Marketplace, Fong Hon Sum, expressed pride in the company’s achievements. “myTukar’s amazing growth couldn’t have been possible without everyone who believed in our ambition and goals,” said Fong.

He also emphasised the company’s commitment to transforming the used car industry with transparent and honest practices.

Carro CEO, Derrick Eng, highlighted the brand’s focus on sustainable growth and delivering quality used cars to Malaysian consumers. Eng expressed enthusiasm for strengthening the Carro brand within the country.

Adding to the celebration is Carro’s first ambassador, Phei Yong, a popular influencer known for his epic road trip from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore in a Carro Certified car.

Yong expressed excitement about the new partnership, citing Carro’s honest and transparent practices as the reason for his confidence in the brand.
