Bursa Mixed At Midday, KLCI Up

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session mixed on Tuesday, with purchases of shares in selected heavyweights keeping the local benchmark index in positive territory, dealers said.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI had risen 5.16 points to 1,549.87, from Monday’s close at 1,544.71.

The key index, which opened 0.24 of a point higher at 1,544.95, moved between 1,541.36 and 1,550.28 during the morning session. 

However, market breadth was negative, with decliners trouncing gainers 513 to 365, while 442 counters were unchanged, 950 untraded and 12 others suspended.

Turnover amounted to 2.48 billion units worth RM1.30 billion, Bernama reported.
