EDOTCO Completes Construction Of 27 JENDELA Project Sites In Negeri Sembilan

EDOTCO Malaysia announced the handover of 27 new telecommunication infrastructures for Phase 1 under the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA) to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in Negeri Sembilan.

This significant milestone, marked by a ceremony attended by Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister Datuk Seri Aminuddin bin Harun, signifies a major achievement in the JENDELA project, with Negeri Sembilan being the first state to achieve 100% implementation of Phase 1 infrastructure.

EDOTCO attributed the success of the project to the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders involved, including the State Government, Local Authorities, and relevant agencies, in overcoming various challenges to complete the project.

These challenges included identifying suitable sites, some of which were in forested areas, Orang Asli territories, and reservoirs, as well as difficulties in obtaining permission and approval from landowners for the tower locations.

EDOTCO, Group Chief Executive Officer, Adlan Tajudin, expressed his pride in realising the government’s agenda to expand digital connectivity for the people of Negeri Sembilan. He highlighted EDOTCO’s commitment to being a strategic partner for this initiative and providing expertise in infrastructure facilities to help mobile network operators expand 4G coverage in rural areas.

To date, EDOTCO Malaysia has been entrusted with the construction of 258 telecommunication towers under the JENDELA Phase 1 initiative nationwide.

This achievement solidifies its position as a leading industry player in advancing Malaysia’s telecommunication infrastructure, thereby contributing to the nation’s goal of achieving high levels of connectivity and technological advancement.

Additionally, EDOTCO contributes to the government’s vision of expanding coverage and enhancing the quality of broadband experience in residential areas to promote economic and social development.
