CAAM Suspends All Blackshape Aircraft Operations

The Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia has suspended all flight operations involving the Blackshape aircraft model BS115, BK160, BK 60-200 and BK 160 TR effective tomorrow.

CAAM said the suspension aligns with the Emergency Airworthiness Directive issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency as the manufacturing state authority of those aircraft to suspend flight of all specified Blackshape aircraft including all serial numbers. The issuance was promted by the recent fatal accident involving Blackshape airplanes.

The suspensions follows the plane crash in Kapar that took place in February involved the Gabriel BK-160TR which upon investigation revealed structural failure.

It was also reported the particular aircraft was not air worthy and had not been approved for flight, the crash saw two person killed.

Blackshape is a Spanish aircraft maker founded by Luciano Belviso and Angelo Petrosillo, the company is owned and controlled by Angel, an international financial holding involved in several hi-tech sectors and mostly skilled in space, aerospace, railway, electronic and biomedical.
