AEON Credit Extends RM500k Aid To Japan Quake Victims

AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad (“AEON Credit”), in collaboration with AEON CO. (M) BHD. (“AEON CO”) and the Malaysian AEON Foundation (“The Foundation”), has collectively donated RM500,000 to support the victims affected by the recent 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Suzu, Japan.

The donation, presented through a mock cheque ceremony at the Japanese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, was graciously received by Japan’s ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Takahashi Katsuhiko.

Comprising RM175,000 each from AEON Credit and AEON CO, alongside funds amounting to RM150,000 collected during the Foundation’s public donation drive in January 2024, the contribution underscores AEON’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian efforts.

Key representatives including AEON Credit, Chairman, Ng Eng Kiat; Malaysia AEON Foundation, and AEON CO, Chairman, Datuk Iskandar Sarudin; AEON CO Managing Director, Naoya Okada; AEON Credit, Chief Corporate Officer, Lee Kit Seong; and members of the Foundation Committee graced the cheque presentation ceremony.

Ng Eng Kiat, expressing AEON’s enduring dedication to community welfare, said, “Our ongoing commitment to support people in need, both locally and internationally, remains steadfast. Today, as the AEON Group of Companies in Malaysia, we stand united in our pursuit of these noble objectives.”

Having donated over RM20 million over the years, the Foundation’s tireless efforts have provided essential aid in education, shelter, and medical support to those facing adversity. AEON’s collective initiative embodies its mission to foster positive and enduring impacts on the lives of individuals affected by challenging circumstances.
