Felcra To Disburse RM74 Million In Dividends To More Than 70,000 Settlers

Felcra Berhad has announced plans to distribute dividends totaling RM74 million to more than 70,000 settlers across Malaysia in anticipation of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Felcra Berhad, Chairman, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating that the dividend payment aims to alleviate financial burdens for recipients as they prepare for the festive season.

“The payments were transferred electronically and originate from last year’s dividend allocation. Dividend disbursement for the year 2024 is slated to commence in May,” Ahmad Jazlan said.

The amount of dividends disbursed depends on the prevailing global market price of crude palm oil. Ahmad Jazlan noted that current palm oil prices are stable, exceeding RM4,000 per metric tonne.

He expressed hope for sustained price increases, which would translate to additional dividends for settlers.

In addition to addressing financial matters, Ahmad Jazlan, who also serves as the Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairman, called upon the Kelantan state government to urgently resolve the ongoing water supply crisis.

With Hari Raya Aidilfitri just two weeks away, he emphasised the importance of ensuring an adequate water supply to accommodate increased usage during the festive period.

“The return of Kelantanese residents from various locations to celebrate Hari Raya in their hometowns is expected to escalate water consumption. We must avoid any water shortages that could disrupt the festivities,” Ahmad Jazlan added.

The timely distribution of dividends by Felcra Berhad underscores the government’s commitment to supporting rural communities and ensuring their well-being during important cultural celebrations.
