EOY Awards Open Nominations For Entrepreneurs

The prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) awards in Malaysia are now accepting nominations until June 30, 2024. This annual event invites members of the public and the business community to nominate outstanding Malaysian entrepreneurs who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.

The EOY Malaysia award programme aims to recognise and celebrate exemplary entrepreneurs across four categories: Emerging, Technology, Woman, and Master.

From these categories, an overall country winner will be selected to represent Malaysia at the esteemed EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) event next year.

A panel of independent judges will assess the nominees based on globally benchmarked criteria, including entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth, and impact.

This year’s theme, “The Art of Entrepreneurship,” acknowledges entrepreneurs who continually innovate and reshape the economy with their passionate commitment and work.

EOY Malaysia, Programme Director, and Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn. Bhd, Partner, Philip Rao expressed enthusiasm for this theme, highlighting how entrepreneurs navigate challenges to create innovative solutions that benefit communities and economies.

Rao emphasised the EOY programme’s importance in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, having honored over 300 entrepreneurs across various industries over the past two decades. He looks forward to spotlighting inspiring innovators and their stories, both locally and globally.

In June, JF Technology Bhd, Datuk Foong Wei Kuong the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2023 Malaysia, will represent the country at the WEOY event in Monte Carlo, competing with winners from 47 countries.

“We believe Malaysia harbors numerous untold and inspirational entrepreneurial stories. We encourage all homegrown entrepreneurs, regardless of size, background, or industry, to participate in the EOY Malaysia programme,” Rao said.
