The findings of the Hays Global Cyber Security Report 2024 reveal a growing concern among cyber security leaders in Malaysia regarding the impact of AI on workforce dynamics. Furthermore, 54% anticipate budget increases in 2024, outpacing the global average of 40%. Despite this optimistic outlook, 92% of local respondents expressed concerns about the adequacy of these budgetary allocations.

She emphasised the importance of strategic investments in upskilling initiatives to equip cyber security teams with the necessary tools to combat sophisticated cyberattacks effectively.

“While the adoption of AI in cyber security presents both challenges and opportunities, it is imperative for organizations to prioritize ongoing training and skill development.

As leaders demonstrate a willingness to invest in upskilling efforts, cyber security professionals are encouraged to seize opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth,” Natasha said.
