Edotco’s Subsidiary Appoints Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang As Chairman

EDOTCO Malaysia has announced the appointment of Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang, Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah as the Chairman of its subsidiary, Shahzan Alam Muda Sdn. Bhd.

The company said Shahzan Alam Muda is the only One Stop Agency (O.S.A) responsible for all telecommunications infrastructure development in the state of Pahang. Following EDOTCO Malaysia’s acquisition of Touch Mindscape Sdn. Bhd. from Touch Group Holdings in December 2021, it now holds an 80% ownership stake in Shahzan Alam Muda.

Beyond streamlining permitting processes, Shahzan Alam Muda will be responsible in spearheading telecommunications infrastructure rollout in Pahang, ensuring equitable access to reliable digital connectivity while prioritising sustainability and green infrastructure. The company said it will also support the state’s sustainability goals by introducing digital demand planning to identify network coverage gaps using advanced analytics, thereby facilitating infrastructure-sharing opportunities, eliminating overlapped telecommunications towers and enhancing the state’s landscape aesthetics.

Adlan Tajudin, CEO of EDOTCO Group, commented, “With the recent increase in minimum download standards by the government to 7.7mbps from 2.5mbps, the urgency to address connectivity gaps in Pahang has become even more apparent. Presently, Pahang lags at 65% 5G coverage in populated areas, compared to the national average of 80.2%. Greater collaboration among stakeholders is urgently needed to bridge this digital divide.”

Commenting on his appointment, Y.A.M Tengku Muhammad Iskandar, said, “Through strategic collaboration with EDOTCO Group, we will leverage our expertise and resources to bridge the digital divide, enhance innovative infrastructure, and propel Pahang towards a prosperous digital future.”

Born on 3rd August 1997, Y.A.M. Tengku Muhammad Iskandar graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom and had a previous attachment in 2015 with the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia focusing on economics, trade, regional integration, foreign policy and security studies. He also serves as a Representative of the Royal Family with the Pahang State Customs Council.
