Fair Dedicated To Coffee Lovers, Returns

The International Café & Beverage Show (ICBS) 2024, renowned as the premier showcase of artisan food, beverage, and café products, is set to make a vibrant return to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from May 23 to May 25, 2024. This year’s edition promises an array of captivating experiences, including the highly anticipated Roasters Village, masterclasses, barista skills training, and the inaugural baking competition.

Managing Director of Montgomery Asia, Christopher McCuin, the show organiser, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled by the overwhelming response from our partners, sponsors, and exhibitors. Building upon the success of last year’s show, we have expanded our exhibition space by 60%, accommodating more exhibitors, participants, and visitors. All available exhibition spaces were booked by March this year!”

ICBS 2024 will bring together 450 brands from over 40 countries, attracting 1,500 café owners and over 1,000 baristas. It serves as a vital platform that connects stakeholders from Malaysia and neighboring markets with suppliers and talent from across the globe.

McCuin also highlighted a significant milestone, saying, “2024 marks a pivotal moment as we receive the endorsement from Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). This endorsement enables eligible companies registered with MATRADE to apply for its Market Development Grant (MDG) as an ICBS exhibitor.”

One of the show’s main attractions is the Roasters Village, which offers small coffee roasters an opportunity to showcase their unique coffee flavors. This year, the pavilion will feature roasters from Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam, alongside exhibitors from China, Italy, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan.

ICBS 2024 is expected to draw over 12,000 visitors from Malaysia and abroad over three days. May 23-24 will be exclusive for trade visitors, with the exhibition open to the public and trade on its final day, May 25.

The exhibition will focus on specialty coffee, beverages, F&B products, café lifestyle, furniture, design, and technology. It will also host the semi-finals and finals of the Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC), organized by the Malaysia Specialty Coffee Association (MSCA), featuring competitions such as the Malaysia Barista Championship and Latte Art Championship.

Furthermore, the BakinLove Next Top Baker competition finals will debut on May 25, providing a platform for bakers to showcase their skills. Professional baristas can look forward to training courses organized by the Barista Guild Asia (BGA), covering various aspects of coffee brewing and career progression.

McCuin expressed gratitude to the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), and MATRADE for their support, emphasizing their crucial role in organizing the event.

ICBS 2024 will be held in Halls 1 & 2 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with the first two days focusing on trade and industry visitors and the final day open to both industry visitors and the public.
