The RM2 billion Shah Alam rejuvenation project which will be overseen by the Selangor State Development Corporation who will see the development of a PKNS Square in the city centre and the upgrading of several existing buildings which includes the SACC Mall, Plaza Perangsang, PKNS Complex, and Menara MRCB.
“The project is expected to be fully completed in eight to 10 years. The reason we are doing this is to rejuvenate the city by stimulating its economy, as that Shah Alam is the state capital of Selangor.
“Currently, Shah Alam’s urban hub tends to wind down after 9pm, with only Sections 2, 7, and 13 remaining vibrant. Our aim is to rejuvenate the area, effectively igniting economic growth.”
“Through this project, we hope to breathe a new lease of life into existing developments and plans, some of which still adhere to themes and concepts from the 1980s,” he told the press after attending PKNS’ Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house today.
Separately, Amirudin said PKNS’ cash flow has been steadily improving since 2008, and that the state subsidiary has achieved various milestones during this period.
