Putrajaya Will Raise Civil Servants Salary By 13% From This Year

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stated on Labour Day that the salary of civil servants will be raised by 13% from this year onwards.

Anwar said together with basic and allowance the salary of staffs in the government will be above RM2000 from this year which is above the RM1500 minimum wage threshold.

The raise has been coming after the new government made an open declaration that it will raise the salary of civil servants as soon as possible despite the country facing challenges in bringing the budget deficit lower.

The Prime Minister in April gave assurance that the revised Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), will be the best ever introduced in the country. Anwar, who is also finance minister, said the revised SSPA will also see the highest financial implication ever involved, however he noted its the government’s job to find more funds to accommodate this.
