Interim Report On TLDM Helicopter Tragedy Expected Next Week, Defense Minister Says

The interim report on the tragic incident involving two Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) helicopters, which resulted in the loss of 10 officers and personnel on April 23, is expected to be completed by next week, announced Defense Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to Kem Terendak in Melaka, Minister Mohamed Khaled stated that the investigating committee is in the final stages of preparing the interim report. He anticipates that the investigation process will take approximately 30 days to conclude.

“We are refraining from making any assumptions or speculations about the incident. With the completion of the report, we hope to uncover the truth and determine the cause of the incident within the next 30 working days,” he saidd.

The Defense Minister’s remarks came following a working visit and friendly session with residents of Kem Terendak at Kem Terendak, Sungai Udang, which was also attended by Army Chief General Tan Sri Muhamad Hafizzuddeain Jantan.

Earlier reports from the media indicated that the Cabinet had extensively discussed the helicopter crash incident at the TLDM Base in Perak. It was committed to delivering an interim report within two weeks and a comprehensive report within a month.
