BJak Platform Under Fire For Offering Services Not Approved By RTD

The action of BJAK Sdn Bhd (BJAK) in providing road tax renewal business services to the public has not been approved by the Malaysian Road Transport Department (RTD).

RTD, in a statement, said that BJAK’s dissemination of company advertisements through the bjak.my website and social media platforms is untrue.

They stated that the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) or the Road Transport Department (RTD) has never granted approval to BJAK to provide road tax renewal business services.

“JPJ wishes to inform that statements made by BJAK through their website, stating that online ‘road tax’ renewals at BJAK have been audited, verified, and approved by JPJ are false and misleading to the public.

“The department has also received several complaints from the public, indicating that road tax renewals have been carried out through the BJAK website, but the validity period of the road tax has not been updated,” the statement said on Monday.

At the same time, they said, JPJ has received complaints from the public dissatisfied with the additional charges imposed when renewing road tax by BJAK.

According to the statement, the department emphasised that MOT or JPJ has never approved any additional charges imposed by BJAK on their customers.

They encouraged the public to carry out road tax renewal transactions through JPJ counters, JPJ kiosks, JPJ Mobile counters, MyJPJ application, JPJ public portal, and JPJ business partner platforms such as Pos Malaysia, MyEG, and PUSPAKOM only.

“The department once again emphasised that the operation conducted by BJAK regarding road tax renewal business services is without JPJ’s permission.

“Hence, the public is advised to always be cautious of any platform offering unauthorized road tax renewal services.

“This is to avoid any fraud and loss; therefore, the public is advised to refer to or contact JPJ for further information,” it said.

Additionally, JPJ is always striving and committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the public, especially JPJ customers, are preserved.

Any official complaints can be forwarded to JPJ through the official JPJ complaint portal at https://jpj.spab.gov.my/.
