Agrobank has recently awarded scholarships totaling RM221,000 to five outstanding students pursuing their studies at esteemed local universities. Since its inception in 2013, the Agrobank scholarship program has been dedicated to providing financial assistance to deserving students who exhibit exceptional academic prowess. With this recent allocation, Agrobank has sponsored a total of 44 scholars nationwide.
The recipients of the prestigious Agrobank scholarship represent a diverse array of academic fields, including Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Statistics, and Economics. These scholars are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs at renowned local universities such as Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), and Universiti Malaya (UM).
During the Agrobank Raya open house, Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin, President/Chief Executive Officer of Agrobank, expressed his pride in the scholars, stating, “The scholars joining us today embody the nation’s aspirations for progress and development. They represent our most significant investment in steering the country towards a prosperous future.”
Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of Agrobank’s corporate social responsibility efforts in ensuring that students have access to quality education. “These scholarships provide opportunities for students to participate in various programs and activities designed to encourage them to build a professional network with Agrobank and support their career aspirations,” he added.
DatUK Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin also stressed the significance of cultivating strong moral character alongside academic excellence.
He said, “Quality education not only focuses on students’ theoretical learning abilities but also fosters individuals with good self-character. The development of good moral character is essential for individuals regardless of their educational attainment and success achieved.”
