After nearly 30 years in the music industry, the Chinese-Malaysian singer, Michael Wong or Guangliang recently staged what he once thought might be his final concert, showcasing his enduring passion for music and his deep connection with fans.

Addressing the audience, Michael expressed his gratitude and disbelief at the overwhelming support he received. “Every time I sing now, I feel like I’m missing something, and I don’t know when I’ll have the chance to sing again,” he confessed, reflecting on his journey in the music world.

The concert, held in Malaysia, held special significance for Michael, who reminisced about his humble beginnings and expressed his appreciation for the support he received from both the media and his loyal fans.

“Malaysia is where I grew up. I didn’t know anything when I first started out. Thank you to the media for supporting local talent and allowing me to express myself through my music,” he said, expressing his heartfelt gratitude.

Throughout the three-hour performance organised by Star Planet, Michael delighted fans with his signature hits and shared anecdotes from his musical journey.

Despite initially declaring there would be no encore, he couldn’t resist the enthusiastic requests from the audience. “I’ll sing ‘Fairy Tale’ for you all, but after that, it’s time to go home,” he teased, drawing laughter from the crowd.

“Fairy Tale,” a beloved song among his fans, holds a special meaning for Michael. He emphasised that the song is not just for children but serves as a reminder to hold onto hope and belief during challenging times.
