IRB: Lawyers Can Now Submit RPGT Forms Electronically Through ‘Lawyer Role Application’

The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has gone live with the ‘Lawyer Role Application’ to allow lawyers to submit the Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT) forms electronically via e-CKHT on the MyTax portal.

IRB said today (May 8) the feature was created in line with section 57A(3) of the Real Property Gains Tax Act (ACKHT) 1976.

The application for the role of a lawyer is only allowed for lawyers under law firms registered with the Bar Council. The procedure for applying for the lawyer’s role can be done by visiting https://mytax.hasil.gov.my/.

“Applicants need to log in to MyTax using their MyKad number and password. If there is no Tax Identification Number (TIN), applications can be submitted via the e-Daftar service on MyTax,” it said in a statement today.

To obtain further information regarding the lawyer’s role service, the IRB suggests taxpayers to refer to the user manual accessible through the MyTax Portal https://mytax.hasil.gov.my/ > User Guide > User Manual for Application and Termination of Lawyer.
