Gamuda JV Unit Awarded RM5 Billion Metro Rail Project In Perth, Australia

Gamuda Berhad announced that the Metronet High-Capacity Signalling Project has been awarded by the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia to its wholly owned subsidiary DT Infrastrcuture for the design, supply, installation, testing, commission and maintanence ofhigh capacity signalling technologt for Perths suburban rail network.

The award is valued at AUD 1.2 billion which is equavalent to RM5 billion whereby Gamuda will be managing the project with Alstom Transport on a 46-54 percentage split. The contract duration is for 10 years with Gamuda expected to earn a revenue of RM2.3 billion.

The METRONET High-Capacity Signalling Project is set modernise Perth’s train signalling system, boosting network capacity by 40%, enhancing energy efficiency, ensuring cybersecurity, and future-proofing the system for growth, all with minimal disruption to commuters and delivering significant long-term socio-economic benefits to the community
