Bank Muamalat Selected As Official Bank For Muslim Entrepreneurship Program

Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Muamalat) has been chosen by the Malaysian Empowerment and Economic Transformation Organisation (PPTEM) as the first official bank to collaborate in developing Muslim entrepreneurs. This partnership aims to provide collaborative opportunities and offer comprehensive financial services to entrepreneurs throughout Malaysia.

As part of the Muslim Entrepreneurship Program ‘Sandbox: The Entrepreneur Kick Start 2024’ introduced by PPTEM, Bank Muamalat will serve as both a mentor and the primary bank. The bank will help local entrepreneurs maintain resilient and thriving businesses. Participants in the Sandbox program will receive assistance with opening business accounts for daily operations. Additionally, eligible entrepreneurs will have access to various banking facilities, including business financing, iTEKAD, and cash management solutions.

Bank Muamalat and PPTEM are also working together to organize informational briefings for entrepreneurs from different sectors about the benefits of the Sandbox program. Today, the ‘Sembang Santai Usahawan Program in conjunction with the Muslim Entrepreneurship Sandbox Program’ was held at Bank Muamalat’s headquarters, Menara Bumiputra, specifically for creative industry entrepreneurs.

Khairul Kamarudin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Muamalat, stated, “With a target to train 30,000 Muslim entrepreneurs throughout this year, Bank Muamalat is ready to support and fully commit to ensuring this program is successfully implemented and meets the set targets.”

He added, “As a fully Islamic banking institution, Bank Muamalat is always committed to assisting entrepreneurs through collaborations and offering the best products and services in line with our determination to build a Better Life, Together. Besides the creative industry, Bank Muamalat and PPTEM will explore the needs to support Muslim entrepreneurs in other industries, which will lead to the emergence of more competitive entrepreneurs in the future.”

Khairul emphasized that Bank Muamalat’s efforts align with the third core goal of the Malaysia Madani vision: creativity and innovation. The bank is committed to supporting government efforts to create an environment and infrastructure that stimulate creativity and encourage the development of advanced systems, products, ideas, and processes for entrepreneurs.
