Sunway College has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence with its latest GCE A-Level results, where over 54.2% of students achieved a minimum of 3As. This achievement underscores Sunway College’s position as the leading Cambridge provider in Malaysia.

In addition to the impressive results, Sunway College proudly holds the top position for the most recipients of the May 2024 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, with 28 accolades awarded to 26 students. This highlights the institution’s ongoing success and dedication to its students.
Sunway College’s GCE A-Level programme supports students from diverse backgrounds. One notable graduate, 28-year-old Ross James Farren, achieved an impressive 3A* and 1A. Farren’s journey is particularly inspiring; he dropped out of school at 15 without formal qualifications but later pursued a degree in Professional Music. After eight years of working as a session guitarist and producer, he decided to return to education following the challenges brought on by the 2020 pandemic.
“I applied to five colleges around Kuala Lumpur, and Sunway was the only one that accepted me. Ms. Ruth Cheah personally reviewed my application and decided to give me a chance. I couldn’t believe my luck when I received the email saying that I had been accepted,” Farren recounted.
He praised the supportive staff at Sunway College, including Ms. Sharon, Ms. Leong, Ms. Grace, and Mr. Derek, for their understanding and guidance throughout his studies. Farren also credited his wife for her unwavering support, stating that balancing A-Levels with work and fatherhood was challenging but possible with her help.
Farren encourages others to embrace change, stating, “It’s never too late to change your circumstances. By making small, positive decisions each day, you can gradually build a better future.”
