Empowering Malaysian Exporters In Global Halal Market With Knowledge Hub

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will once again hold its Knowledge Hub programme during the upcoming Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS).

The event is scheduled for 19 September 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), running alongside MIHAS from 17 to 20 September 2024.

MATRADE’s Chairman, Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, emphasised the importance of the Knowledge Hub in helping Malaysian exporters gain deeper insights into the global Halal market.

“In line with MIHAS 2024’s theme, ‘Globalising Halal Innovations,’ the Knowledge Hub will gather industry experts, policymakers, and business leaders to discuss sourcing requirements, opportunities, and trends shaping the global Halal market,” he said.

The Knowledge Hub aims to support Malaysia’s efforts to position itself as a central hub in global Halal supply chains. This year’s event will feature four “Meet the Experts” panel sessions, where participants can engage directly with market specialists and premium buyers from key markets like the USA, India, Türkiye, and New Zealand.

MATRADE’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, noted that these sessions offer valuable insights for Malaysian companies to maintain their competitive edge and seize the growing opportunities in the global Halal market, projected to reach US$5 trillion by 2030.

MIHAS 2024 is set to feature 2,000 booths and expects to draw 40,000 visitors from 45 countries, reinforcing its position as a key platform in the global Halal industry.
