Ringgit Advances Against U.S. Dollar As BNM Maintains 3% Rate

Kuala Lumpur: The ringgit opened slightly stronger against the US dollar on Friday after Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) kept the overnight policy rate (OPR) unchanged at 3.00%, reflecting optimism in the country’s economic growth outlook, according to an analyst.

At 8am, the local currency rose to 4.3325/4.3405 against the greenback, up from Thursday’s close of 4.3360/4.3400.
