The FBM KLCI rebounded from earlier losses to end the morning session in positive territory, while the broader market continued to face significant pressure.
At 12:30pm, the benchmark index rose by 1.25 points to 1,654.37, driven by gains in Nestle, Maybank, and MISC.
However, lower liners remained weak, with 719 counters in negative territory compared to 233 gainers.
Of the 13 market sectors, only financial services and REITs managed to stay positive, as investors leaned towards defensive stocks amid ongoing global market volatility.
