The Malaysia Agricultural, Horticultural and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary with what promises to be one of its most significant and historic editions. Scheduled to run from September 11 to 22, 2024, the event will welcome an anticipated three million visitors.

MAHA 2024 has set ambitious targets, including RM6 billion in memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements (MoAs), RM40 million in direct sales, RM600 million in financing potential, and reaching 10 million media impressions from around 4,000 applications.

The exhibition will also spotlight international participation through the MAHA Go Global segment, which has already attracted 16 countries, including Japan, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and several European nations. This segment will feature agricultural technologies, business matchmaking, and investment opportunities in Malaysia’s agri-food sector.

The first three days of the event, from September 11 to 13, will be reserved for business-to-business (B2B) activities at Hall C. The general public will have access to the exhibition from September 11 to 22.

MAHA 2024 will emphasise eight main focus areas: 100 Years of MAHA, Agriculture, Sustainability, MADANI Human Capital, Technology, Agro-Tourism, MAHA Go Global, and Investment.

New attractions for this year include the Magical At Night and Water Show, Kids Attraction, Rhythm of Farmers, Agro Fit, Sunflower Garden, and Floating Market. The event will also feature glamping and motorhome options.

The 12-day event will offer 48 segments, including exhibitions and sales activities covering various aspects of the agri-food value chain. Highlights will include Agro-Tech, Agro-Lifestyle, Agro-Tourism, and Agro-Youth sections, as well as specific Agro-Food categories for rice, floriculture, pineapples, vegetables & herbs, and livestock. Visitors can also explore 13 state pavilions showcasing local culture, tourist attractions, products, and foods.

Improved visitor facilities will include a 1.1-kilometer covered pedestrian walkway, free shuttle buses from several key locations, and additional transportation options such as trams, tractors, buses, and motorbike facilities. Accessible parking and amenities like toilets, prayer rooms, and dining areas will also be available.

Since its inception in 1923, MAHA has continually evolved to incorporate the latest technology and interactive elements in agriculture and food security. The 2024 edition aims to provide valuable opportunities for farmers, ranchers, and fishermen to explore new technologies, market opportunities, and promote their products.
