The programme has helped 50 individuals to undergo training through a Micro-Credit module on how to operate Dapur Digital, that is, cloud or digital kitchen.

The products offered by Dapur Digital are promoted and delivered through three food delivery platforms. The highly integrated operation and marketing have turned the digital initiative into a life-transforming course.

Each of the five Digital Kitchen locales has set a target of RM10,000 monthly sales turnover. Notably, just one week after its launch, Kampung Limau Kitchen drew in RM3,000.

A digital kitchen1, as understood, is different from a ghost kitchen as the former utilises data analytics and automation, in some cases, even integrated software and smart appliances. The technology integration ultimately translates into efficiency, time and energy saving, improved management, enhanced security, last but not least, better sales and revenues.

It’s like running a command center for your kitchen operation.

For instance, recipes of a digital kitchen may be stored within a recipe management system for easy upgrade and retrieval. Food stocks, on the other hand, are handled by real-time inventory tracking apps.

Also, a digital kitchen is different from a ghost kitchen as it will typically supports and be supported by a physical space that serves as a platform to tie everything together, from ordering, replenishing supplies to customer satisfaction.

A ghost kitchen, on the contrary, exclusively provides food delivery services. Simply put, you order online, the dish is then cooked at a specific location for pick-up, and delivered straight to your doorstep.
