Flooding on the Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit (LRT) line caused significant disruptions on Tuesday morning, affecting the tracks between the Sri Rampai and Wangsa Maju stations.
Rapid KL, via a Facebook update, informed the public that services were suspended on the Sri Rampai to Taman Melati segment due to the incident. Passengers were advised to consider alternative transportation for travel between Sri Rampai and Taman Melati.
“There is no train service between Sri Rampai and Taman Melati. Shuttle buses will be available but are expected to experience delays due to flash floods,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, trains coming from Putra Heights were rerouted to turn back at Sri Rampai, with shuttle trains operating between Taman Melati and Gombak.
Earlier on Tuesday, flash floods struck several areas across Kuala Lumpur’s city centre and Ampang after hours of heavy rain.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department had issued a thunderstorm and heavy rain warning for Tuesday morning, from 9 am to 11 am, for several locations, including Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and parts of Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Langat and Sepang).
Repairs regarding the tracks are now in session, per RapidKL Facebook.
