Electric Car Sharing Option Comes To Johor

GoCar Malaysia and Yinson GreenTech’s drivEV have expanded their collaboration with the launch of electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing services in Johor Bahru. The initiative features the Aion Y Plus and Ora Good Cat models, available for booking at key locations, including Toppen Shopping Centre, to support green mobility for Johor Bahru residents and Singaporean visitors.

To enhance seamless travel, GoCar has partnered with Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of HI Mobility Berhad, to integrate EV car-sharing with Electric Causeway Link buses. This allows travellers arriving from Singapore to continue their journeys within Johor Bahru conveniently.

“The success of our EV sharing fleet in Klang Valley has proven that zero-emission mobility is a practical and scalable solution for modern urban transport. Expanding this initiative to Johor Bahru reinforces our commitment to making zero-emissions mobility accessible to everyone, everywhere,” said Wong Hoe Mun, CEO of GoCar Malaysia.

Kelvin Soon, Managing Director of drivEV, highlighted, “This partnership with GoCar exemplifies our commitment to making sustainable mobility more accessible and practical. By integrating electric cars into Johor Bahru, we strive to enable commuters to embrace socially responsible alternatives while benefiting from convenient and sustainable transportation.”

Car-sharing rates start at RM24.90 per hour for the Ora Good Cat and RM27.90 per hour for the Aion Y Plus. Special promotional offers include a five-hour booking for the Aion Y Plus at RM100 using the code “JBJOLT” (terms apply).

Both models feature cutting-edge technology:

  • Aion Y Plus: Range of up to 490 km, fast charging to 80% in 45 minutes, 14.6-inch infotainment screen, and a six-speaker Bongiovi sound system.
