The High Court today discharged and acquitted Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor of 12 money laundering charges involving RM7 million, as well as five charges for failing to declare her income to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
Judge K. Muniandy granted the order of acquittal after accepting Rosmah’s application to quash all charges against her. The application was based on the argument that the charges were defective and did not disclose the essential elements of the alleged offences.
Rosmah, 73, had filed the application to strike out the charges in September 2023. The hearing, which began on Dec 12, followed partial proceedings where two witnesses had already testified.
