PPB Leads Gainers, United Plantations Sheds RM1.32

Consumer listing PPB Group Bhd today topped the gainers’ list, rising 26 sen to settle at RM12.14, as beer supplier Heineken Malaysia Bhd advanced 18 sen to close at RM24.10 to occupy the third spot on the gainers’ list.

KLCC Prop & REITS – Stapled Sec rose an astounding 25 sen, or 3.14%, to settle at RM8.21. (REIT: Real Estate Investment Trust)

Sunway Construction Group Bhd climbed 18 sen, or nearly 4.0%, to settle at RM4.72, while industrial listing Malayan Cement Bhd added 17 sen, or 3.5%, closing at RM5.01.

On the decliners’ side, United Plantations Bhd was the top decliner which shed RM1.32, or around 4.0%, to close at RM31.82.

Consumer listing Petronas Dagangan Bhd gave up 84 sen, or 4.2%, to close at RM19.02.

Semiconductor manufacturer Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd lost 80 sen, or 3.1%, ending the day at RM25.20.

Financial services stock Allianz Malaysia Bhd trimmed 20 sen to settle at RM20.28, followed by logistics operator Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd which recorded high trading volume of 10,769,700 shares/units, slipping 14 sen to close at RM10.50.

On the broader market, decliners outnumbered gainers by 552 to 462, while 522 counters were untraded, 937 untraded.

Exchange-wide volume increased to 3.34 billion (3,398,003,400) shares/units valued at RM3.77 billion (RM3,766,854,546), from 3.20 billion shares/units valued at RM3.03 billion.
