This festive season just got sweeter! Air passengers at KLIA2 can now sweeten their journey with Tony’s Chocolonely, the “impact-driven” chocolate brand, making every journey this holiday a little merrier.
The special appearance of Capital A Bhd Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tan Sri Anthony Francis Fernandes, or better known as Tony Fernandes, radiated the celebration held on Dec 23.
The heartwarming Christmas celebration hosted by AirAsia Move in partnership with Tony’s Chocolonely served to spread festive cheer to travellers. Guests arriving at the departure hall and luggage carousel area were surprised with special gift boxes featuring Tony’s Chocolonely and AirAsia MOVE duty-free products, a lively Christmas performance by the AirAsia MOVE team, and an appearance by AirAsia’s very own Santa Claus, Tony Fernandes. It was a memorable celebration filled with fun, laughter, and sweet surprises to everyone who joined.
Concerning Tony’s Chocolonely, there is a noble social goal that has followed its birth. The choco-venture has a bold mission to end exploitation in cocoa plantation sector. With its iconic chunky chocolate bars and vibrant packaging, the brand helps to curb unfair labour practice in cocoa plantation, making a positive impact with every bite.
According to Chocolonely’s website, the cocoa that it uses in its production has been deliberately sourced from Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire where more than 60% of the world’s cocoa is produced – and where some of the biggest challenges lie.
The CEO of Capital A shared, “Everyone around me knows how much I love chocolate, and it was a slice of a dream come true when I came across this chocolate brand that shares my name. I love even more their mission to help end exploitation in cocoa plantation,” he added.
Tony’s Chocolonely is the first duty-free chocolate variety carried by AirAsia, also the first Asian airline to sell Tony’s Chocolonely onboard its flights including AirAsia Malaysia (AK), AirAsia X (D7) and AirAsia Indonesia (QZ). The impact-driven chocolate is also available on AirAsia MOVE’s duty-free platform.
