As at 10:03am, KLCI advanced 12.80 points to reach 1,626.50 points, after surging to the high of 1,628.08 points earlier.
This morning, Kuala Lumpur exchange’s key index opened 3.86 points higher. As at 9:04am, the index rose 7.97 points to 1,621.67 points, from Thursday’s close at 1,613.70 points.
Bernama reported based on analysts’ opinion that bargain-hunting provided the much needed support for the local market.
Market analysts also noted that the benchmark index will possibly move within the range of 1,610-1,620 today.
Coming to individual counters, price movement was evident despite relatively low trading volume.
Sector-wise, as at 10:17am, the Health Care Index rallied 1.58%, followed by the Utilities Index which moved up by 0.95%, and the Construction Index which added 0.93%.
As at 10:29am, glove manufacturer Supermax Corporation Bhd added four sen, or 3.25%, to RM1.27 on a volume of 12,468,600 shares/units. Top Glove Corporation Bhd, also a glovemaker, rose four sen to RM1.36 on a voluem of 6,923,000 shares/units.
As at 10:33am, Tenaga Nasional Bhd rose 64 sen, or 4.51%, to RM14.82 on a turnover of 7,498,000 shares/units. United Plantations Bhd advanced 64 sen, or 2.09%, to reach RM31.24 on a turnover of 87,100 shares/units.
As at 10:32am, UEM Sunrise Bhd, a Main market-listed property firm, advanced three sen, or 3.06%, to RM1.01.
