The Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul has confirmed that no Malaysians were on board the South Korean aircraft that crashed into a wall and exploded at the Muan International Airport on Dec 29 morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) said.
Wisma Putra, through the Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul, is closely monitoring the aftermath of the tragic incident involving Jeju Air Flight 7C2216, which veered off the runway and crashed at 9:03am local time, resulting in at least 120 deaths.
Local South Korean and foreign media reported that except for the two crew members who had been rescued, all the 175 passengers and the other four crew members have been presumed “demised”.
Malaysia extends the nation’s deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims and their families affected by the incident, as well as to the people and the government of South Korea.
