ANGKASA, through its subsidiary MyANGKASA Holdings Sdn Bhd (MHSB), has launched the MyANGKASA Plus Protection Scheme in collaboration with Zurich Takaful Malaysia Bhd and Zurich General Takaful Malaysia Bhd. The scheme aims to provide financial protection and enhance service quality for over 7.2 million cooperative members.
ANGKASA President Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Fattah Abdullah stated that the scheme offers comprehensive protection for cooperatives, companies, and their members, particularly those financing loans through ANGKASA’s Salary Deduction System (SPGA).
“This scheme not only offers financial assistance to borrowers during disasters but also protects financiers by covering their financing to reduce risks of non-payment and arrears,” he said during the launch at Wisma Ungku A. Aziz.
MyANGKASA Amanah Berhad, ANGKASA’s trust management arm, will oversee the scheme through trust deeds signed by clients. The initiative also includes features like hibah (gifts), wasiat (wills), and inheritance management, setting it apart from existing market products.
Zurich General Takaful CEO Shamsul Azman highlighted that the scheme provides coverage for death, permanent disability, and involuntary job loss due to accidents. Zurich Takaful Malaysia CEO Nur Fatihah Mustafa emphasised the scheme’s 24/7 worldwide coverage against natural and accidental causes, reflecting Zurich’s commitment to protecting Malaysians.
The event was attended by Zurich Takaful Malaysia Bhd Chair Hasnah Omar, ANGKASA Board Member Datuk Mohamad Ali Hasan, and ANGKASA Group CEO Datuk Haji Abdullah Haji Jusoh, among others.
