NexV Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (NMSB) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Global NEV Technology Sdn Bhd (GNEV) to explore the possibility of the assembly and manufacturing of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in Malaysia.
According to NexV Manufacturing Chief Executive Officer Lim Kwee Shyan, the primary objective of this MOU is to establish a framework for collaboration between NMSB and GNEV in developing Malaysia’s green technology facility dedicated to manufacturing and assembling NEVs.
“By combining our strengths, we aim to set a new benchmark for NEV assembly and manufacturing in the region.
“Specific activities under the MOU will be detailed in a Definitive Agreement that both companies aim to sign by mid-February 2025,” Lim said.
He highlighted that the collaboration aims to kick off with the assembly of the GNEV brand EV Van powered by LiuZhou Wuling, meeting the rising demand for commercial EVs in the ASEAN region.
“Once an agreement is signed, the collaboration may see its first commercial EV rollout from the NexV’s production line as soon as the first quarter of 2026,” Lim said.
