Paris Baguette Opens First Halal Food Hub In Johor, Eyes Global Expansion

Paris Baguette, the internationally renowned bakery brand under SPC Group, has launched its first Halal food hub in Johor, Malaysia. The opening was officiated by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Malaysia Yeo Seung-bae, and SPC Group Chairman Hur Young In.

The RM260 million facility features seven advanced production lines capable of producing 100 million bakery products annually. With Malaysia’s globally recognised Halal certification, Paris Baguette aims to strengthen its international supply chain while catering to growing global demand for Halal-certified bakery products.

“Food is more than just what we eat—it is a way to share culture, identity, and traditions… Today’s grand opening symbolises our commitment to building strong connections with local communities, creating job opportunities, and fostering collaboration,” said SPC Group Chairman Hur Young In.

Onn Hafiz welcomed the investment, stating, “This facility will not only strengthen Johor’s role within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone but will also provide employment opportunities and enhance Malaysia’s reputation as a global leader in Halal food production.”

Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid called the launch a defining step in cementing Malaysia’s status as a global Halal food hub.

“SPC Group’s investment is a resounding endorsement of Malaysia’s world-class Halal ecosystem… This cutting-edge facility serves as a springboard for expansion across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Australia,” he said.

Paris Baguette’s strategic location within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) offers seamless access to both local and international markets.

“This facility strengthens our international supply chain and allows us to serve our customers worldwide with greater efficiency and consistency,” said SPC Group President Hur Jin Soo.

The Paris Baguette Regional Halal Food Hub is set to play a pivotal role in the brand’s global expansion, ensuring high-quality, Halal-certified bakery products reach markets worldwide.
