Petaling Jaya Again Recognised As Happiest City In Malaysia

The city of Petaling Jaya has once again been recognised as the Happiest City in Malaysia this year.

Petaling Jaya Mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon said this recognition is the result of a study conducted under the Department of Urban and Rural Planning.

“Last year, we received 28 awards both locally and internationally, including being recognised as the Happiest City. Alhamdulillah, this year we have once again received this recognition, which will take place at a ceremony on March 20.“This recognition encompasses 14 criteria, including the environment, local leadership, local authority services, infrastructure, and residents’ satisfaction with their neighbourhoods.

“We hope this recognition will serve as motivation for all staff to continue working harder and doing their best in providing top-notch services to the residents,” he said.

In the effort to provide the best service, MBPJ continuously attends to every complaint received and enhances basic maintenance work.

“Previously, we have consistently carried out upgrading works and park cleanliness efforts for the comfort of residents, but these initiatives are being further enhanced from time to time.

“It is crucial for MBPJ to provide the best services to ensure resident satisfaction, especially following the reassessment of property tax, which takes effect this year,” Zahri said.
