Grab To Encourage Drivers To Adopt EV With New Partnership

Grab Malaysia is driving the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) among its drivers nationwide by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with BYD Sime Motors, Yinson Green Technologies (M) and Power-Up Tech that will offer its fleet partners and drivers access to EVs at competitive rates.

This collaboration would promote EV adoption and provide Grab drivers with accessible EV solutions while reducing carbon emissions, and contributing to Malaysia’s Green Economy.

Commenting on the collaboration, Grab Malaysia Director of Country Operations and Mobility Rashid Shukor said that through this collaboration, the firm is not only supporting Malaysia’s sustainability agenda but also empowering their drivers with access to greener alternatives.

“By working with key industry players, we aim to accelerate EV adoption and drive long-term benefits for our communities and the environment,” he said in a statement.

Witnessing the signing ceremony, Investment, Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Liew Chin Tong said the transition to EVs relies on strong collaboration between the government and private sector.

“Today’s MoU signing represents a significant step in Malaysia’s green mobility journey.

“Grab Malaysia’s commitment, together with its partners, reflects the shared vision for a more sustainable future,” he added.
