Selangor Startups Head To Japan For Global Exposure

The Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) is spearheading a mission to Japan with five high-potential startups from Selangor to elevate its local tech ecosystem to the global stage.

The delegation will participate in two prominent international innovation events — World Expo 2025 Osaka and SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 — from May 4 to 12, 2025.

Backed by the Selangor state government, this initiative is designed to provide international exposure for startups and foster strategic connections with investors, technology leaders and ecosystem builders worldwide.

The five startups selected to represent Selangor’s innovation landscape are Xtractify Sdn Bhd (artificial intelligence [AI] solutions), Collaborative Excellence Sdn Bhd (sustainability consulting), GoFluence Holding Sdn Bhd (digital marketing), Neupulse Sdn Bhd (community engagement platforms), and Hikayat Kebun Sdn Bhd (agritech innovation). Each company reflects the diversity and strength of Selangor’s growing digital economy.

From May 4 to 7, 2025, the delegation will take part in Selangor Week at World Expo 2025 Osaka, held at Yumeshima Island.

Under the sub-theme of “Digitalisation” and in collaboration with local agencies such as the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit, Cyberview and Monsta, Sidec is leading a dynamic slate of activities including expert panel discussions with tech leaders and policymakers, live startup pitching to global investors, fireside chats with founders and thought leaders, and speed networking to build strategic alliances. These sessions aim to spotlight Selangor as a rising hub of innovation and resilience in the regional digital economy.

Following their engagement in Osaka, the delegation will continue to SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025, held from May 8 to 11, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight. This high-profile startup conference, organised by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors and feature more than 500 exhibiting startups from across the globe.

Selangor startups will be showcased at the Malaysia Pavilion under the guidance of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation. They will participate in the SusHi Tech Challenge pitch competition, exhibit their technologies and products, join conference sessions and tech tracks on AI, food tech, quantum computing and sustainability. These opportunities will help startups tap into Japanese market trends, connect with global investors and forge cross-border collaborations.

Since 2018, Sidec has helped accelerate over 320 startups through initiatives like the Selangor Accelerator Programme and Selangor E-Commerce Xccelerator. To date, 65 startups have successfully raised a combined total of over RM203 million.
