Leading electronics manufacturing services providers, EG Industries Bhd, has entered into a master purchase agreement with a US-based customer to supply network and artificial intelligence (AI)-related consumable products for deployment across the customer’s operations in the US and globally.
This agreement is a significant win for EG Industries and signals growing international trust in the company’s engineering expertise and scalable manufacturing capabilities.
To meet the production demands of this new contract, EG Industries will repurpose the third floor of its state-of-the-art PG2 Smart Factory 4.0 in Batu Kawan, Penang, into a dedicated production space.
Production is expected to begin in late 2025, with mass production targeted for 2026.
Customer G, whose identity remains confidential under a non-disclosure agreement, is a prominent US provider of AI robotics and high-performance fibre-optic internet services, supporting ultra-fast broadband networks across residential and commercial markets.
Commenting on the agreement, EG Industries group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Datuk Alex Kang said the latest contract, alongside previous wins in the 5G photonics segment, validates the group’s strong track record in delivering high-complexity, mission-critical solutions for global technology leaders.
Kang added that while the agreement is not expected to materially affect the group’s current financial year ending June 30, 2025, it is poised to positively impact earnings in subsequent years.
“The deal also reflects a broader strategic push by the group to capitalise on growing demand for AI systems, hyperscale data centres and advanced wireless technologies,” he noted.
He shared that EG Industries is well-positioned to be a critical enabler of next-generation infrastructure as global demand for high-speed, secure connectivity intensifies.
