Malaysia To Host First Carbon Credit STO Exchange As APC Signs ESG MOUs

Asia Platinum Capital Bhd (APC) has inked three strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) aimed at accelerating ESG investments and green technology initiatives across ASEAN and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

One of the key outcomes is a proposed blockchain-powered exchange focused on carbon credit tokenisation, which would be Malaysia’s first Security Token Offering (STO) exchange integrating Islamic finance principles.

The three MOUs were signed during the ASEAN Leadership & Partnership Forum 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, where APC formalised partnerships with:

  • South Pole, to develop high-integrity carbon assets and drive measurable climate impact across Southeast Asia and Oceania;
  • Group KS & EDENA, to form an international consortium for the proposed STO exchange in Malaysia;
  • Integral Omni Inspire, to deliver ESG-focused technologies across ASEAN and the GCC.

The signing ceremony was led by APC CEO Ramlie Kamsari and witnessed by APC Chairman Tan Sri Mohamed Jawhar Hassan and Senior Minister of Cambodia Dr Sok Siphana, who also serves as Honorary Advisor to the ASEAN Economic Club (AEC).

The partnerships mark a pivotal step in APC’s ESG ambitions, particularly as it embarks on its inaugural carbon credit project involving biogas technology in Cambodia.

“Each of these partnerships reflects our firm belief that technology and smart partnerships are key to unlocking the true potential of ESG transformation across the region,” said Ramlie.

South Pole’s Regional Director Ms Ladaporn Khunikakorn said the collaboration will help scale “high-impact climate projects” while tapping into carbon markets.

Wook Lee, Co-CEO of Group KS & EDENA, described the planned STO exchange as “a regulatory-compliant platform that will democratise access to sustainable investments.”

Meanwhile, Harry Lim, CEO of Integral Omni Inspire, noted the alliance would “localise advanced technologies that address real environmental challenges” across the two regions.

The move positions Malaysia as a potential hub for green finance innovation, connecting ASEAN’s sustainable asset pipeline to global capital through blockchain and Islamic finance frameworks.
