Edelteq Holdings Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Edelteq Ventures Sdn Bhd (EVSB), has entered into a 50:50 joint venture with Halo Technologies Sdn Bhd (HTSB) to establish Halovision System Sdn Bhd, a new entity focused on the development and commercialisation of advanced automated optical inspection (AOI) machines.
The joint venture (JV) aims to tap into high-growth segments of the electronics manufacturing industry by developing inspection systems targeted at substrate panel and semiconductor wafer-level applications.
Halovision System will combine Edelteq’s expertise in engineering, automation and manufacturing with HTSB’s strength in artificial intelligence (AI)-driven optical inspection systems.
“This collaboration positions Edelteq to expand its high-tech product offerings, enhance innovation through joint research and development, and unlock new customer segments in the semiconductor and electronics sectors,” Edelteq said in a bourse filing.
It added that the JV is expected to expand Edelteq’s product portfolio into next-generation AOI systems, strengthen R&D capabilities through AI integration, broaden market reach by targeting new verticals in smart manufacturing, drive long-term revenue growth through profit-sharing and scalability, and align with the nation’s IR4.0 vision.
Management of the JV will be shared equally, with one board representative from each partner. Major business decisions and appointments will require mutual consent.
While the JV is not expected to have an immediate material impact on Edelteq’s 2025 financials, Edelteq views it as a strategic long-term investment. Risks include potential delays in the JV’s launch and market competition, but Edelteq plans to mitigate these through close monitoring and operational efficiency.
