Dagang NeXchange Berhad (DNeX) has announced the withdrawal of its proposed company name change, a decision stemming from a notification by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) that the new name was too similar to an existing entity outside of the DNeX group.
The company’s Board of Directors confirmed today that Special Resolution 1, which pertained to the name change and was outlined in the notice for its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) dated April 30, 2025, will no longer be put to a vote at the upcoming AGM.
This development comes despite DNeX having received initial approval for the name reservation on April 29, 2025. The company stated it reserves the right to initiate all necessary legal proceedings in the event of trademark infringement or dilution.
