A government hospital will be built in Petaling Jaya to facilitate access to medical treatment for residents while reducing congestion at existing hospitals, said Petaling Jaya Mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon.
Several locations have been identified for the hospital’s construction, and they are now awaiting feedback from the Selangor State Health Department and the Petaling District and Land Office.
“The state government agreed to build another hospital in Petaling Jaya at the end of last year, and the relevant parties are currently considering a suitable site.
“In Petaling Jaya, there are mainly private hospitals, and residents have to travel to Shah Alam or Sungai Buloh, which are the nearest options. With the construction of this hospital, it will help ease the burden, especially for low-income earners,” he said.
