Malaysia is set to reinforce its position as a global Halal hub with the 21st edition of the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2025), taking place from Sept 17 to 20 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Hosted by the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry and organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), MIHAS is recognised as the world’s largest Halal trade exhibition. It continues to draw buyers, sellers and stakeholders from over 90 countries, offering a strategic gateway to the US$3 trillion global Halal market.

According to MATRADE, this year’s showcase, with the theme of “Pinnacle of Halal Excellence”, will see participation from five French buyers from the modest fashion and food & beverage sectors, reflecting growing international trust in Halal certification as a benchmark of quality, traceability and ethical assurance.
Commenting on this, Malaysia’s Ambassador to France Datuk Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim said MIHAS is more than a trade event, it is a global platform for innovation, sustainability and quality.
He noted that the Halal concept appeals beyond faith lines, representing a value-driven system trusted by consumers worldwide.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Economic Counsellor at the Malaysian Embassy in Paris, Sébastien Chan Yik Sing, highlighted that MIHAS serves as a gateway to the fast-growing ASEAN market of 680 million people, with Malaysia offering a robust Halal ecosystem and strategic positioning.
“French buyers can leverage MIHAS not only to source quality Halal products but also to connect with the fast-growing ASEAN market through Malaysia’s trusted and well-established Halal ecosystem,” he said.
In line with shifting consumer preferences, MATRADE said MIHAS 2025 will highlight Halal-certified products with organic, vegan and sustainable attributes, aligning with Malaysia’s Halal Industry Master Plan, which projects global Halal demand to exceed US$5 trillion by 2030.
“At the same time, MIHAS 2025 will feature dedicated ASEAN and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) pavilions to foster deeper regional collaboration,” MATRADE added, while revealing that MIHAS 2025 aims to surpass last year’s achievements of RM4.3 billion in sales and 43,000 visitors by leveraging advanced artificial intelligence tools through the Madani Digital Trade platform to streamline sourcing, matchmaking and trade engagement.t.
